Letter to the Editor of the Boston Globe, printed 8/6/01, written
7/30/01:
In your editorial calling for all candidates of the 9th
Congressional District race to be included in the debates and
forums, you omit mention of my candidacy ('Open Campaigns,'
editorial, July 28). As I have spoken with Globe reporters about
my campaign on several occasions, I must assume that the omission
is intentional. You compare the exclusion of lesser known
candidates to the racist poll, tax, yet you have 'whited out' the
campaign of the only African-American candidate who is also the
Massachusetts representative for 2004 Democratic Presidential
pre-candidate Lyndon LaRouche.
Is there a pattern here? You have never reported on teh Democratic
National Committee's court actions nullifying the Voting Rights
Act, initiatied to deny African-American LaRouche Democrats their
primary votes, and their Democatic National Convention delegate
seats in Louisiana in 1996 and Arkansas in 2000.
Fairness requires that you urge my inclusion in all debates
and forums. LaRouche has recently testified before the Russian and
Italian legislatures on the global financial disintegration now
under way. I am the only candidate in the 9th District race who
has, or will, address that issue, and it will soon by the only
issue."
