Bill Ferguson,
LaRouche Democrat,
Declares His Candidacy
for Congress in
Massachusetts' 9th CD

On July 24th, Ferguson declared his candidacy for the Democratic nomination for Representative in Congress for the 9th District of Massachusetts.

"We are currently in the end-phase of the global financial, monetary, and economic collapse which LaRouche forecast in 1994. The Argentina-Brazil-Turkey crisis has prompted Establishment economists to publish in the New York Times and the Washington Post, their fear that the global economic crisis will spin out of control. Every forecast which LaRouche has published, in writing or in his own voice on television broadcasts, has been confirmed in a timely fashion. No other known living economist can match that record.

The mess the world economy is in now, is a direct result of the failure to heed Larouche's warnings, the failure to implement his call to scrap the hopelessly bankrupt IMF system, pop the Greenspan financial speculative bubble, and replace it with a New Bretton Woods System, committed to the General Welfare, in the tradition of Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Fortunately, around the world, many leaders are beginning to learn from this mistake.

In 1983, LaRouche warned the Soviets, that if they chose to reject a LaRouche-designed joint US-Soviet program to develop advanced energy beam technology applications, to end Mutually Assured Destruction and spark a world economic recovery, that the Soviet system would disintegrate. LaRouche was right.

In May of this year, the Russian Transport Ministry announced its commitment to joint the Eurasian Landbridge project which LaRouche has designed and advocated. In Moscow this June, LaRouche addressed the Russian State Duma on his New Bretton Woods Proposal and Landbridge Plan for global economic reconstruction. He also lead a seminar on economic science with over 150 of Russia's scientific elite at the Lebedev Institute of Physics.

Russia is choosing the road to economic recovery. The question is, can the Democratic Party learn, and can you, before it is too late for you, your family, and your community? As one leading Russian economist Tatyana Koryagina said, "Imagine, the U. S. had the chance to elect a person of such profound knowledge and integrity, as its president. And instead he was put into jail. This shows how stupid people have become."

LaRouche forecast the collapse of the Bretton Woods System in 1971. He forecast the Stock Market crash of 1987. He forecast the fall of the Berlin Wall and reunification of Germany in 1989. In 1994, he warned of the world financial disintegration now in progress. In 1998, he told you that a Democratic party Presidential nomination of Al Gore would put George W. Bush in the White House. LaRouche was right, and those who opposed him were wrong.

Last year, elements in the Democratic National Committee employed fascist-like tactics to suppress LaRouche's 2000 presidential campaign to challenge the Al Gore who was doomed to lead the party to defeat. To accomplish that, Gore backers joined with extreme-right-wing Republicans to nullify the 1964 Voting Rights Act. In the Arkansas primary, when 53,000 Demcorats voted for LaRouche against Gore, those elements in the Party stole LaRouche's certified seven Arkansas delegates, sending the message that "your vote doesn't count". By their support for nullification of the 1965 Voting Rights Act, the Gore Democrats threw away the 2000 Presidential election.

This year Gore-allied DLC forces have employed political thuggery to stop Congressional Democrats from mobilizing behind LaRouche's leadership to save D. C. General Hospital, Washington's only full service public hospital. The closing of D. C. General, ordered by the Washington Post's recently deceased Katharine Graham, has caused the deaths of at least 20 people so far, and will kill thousands more unless Democrats reverse it immediately.

As a LaRouche Democrat I am committed to the following urgently needed changes in U. S. national policy:

1. Revive the FDR tradition of commitment to the General Welfare, the 'Common Good' within the party, and within the Congress. I urge voters 'Be a LaRouche Democrat, not a dumb-and-doomed Democrat."

2. I will act in Congress to implement LaRouche's solution to the world's current global financial and economic meltdown crisis:

A. Replace the collapsing IMF system with a New Bretton Woods international monetary system of fixed exchange rates, gold-backed currency issued by sovereign national banks for investment in basic economic infrastructure, productive industry, and scientific progress. (Congress must use its powers under Article I Section 8 of the Constitution to replace the Federal Reserve with a Bank of the United States).

B. Build the Eurasian Landbridge system of high-speed railroads and agro-industrial development corridors to spark a global economic recovery.

C. Reregulate U. S. electricity, oil and natural gas returning to the 'just and reasonable price' standard established under Roosevelt.

D. Rebuild U. S. Health care infrastructure. Stop hospital closings and return to the 1947 Hill-Burton standard of 4.5 hospital beds per thousand people. (Massachusetts has lost more hospital beds per capita in the last 15 years than any other state in the union). Ban HMO's. Reopen D. C. General Hospital immediately.

E. Restore a national sense of mission for the United States by committing the nation to Great Projects such as the Eurasian Landbridge, and the Moon-Mars colonization project, in the tradition of Presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and John F. Kennedy.

This campaign is not about abortion, student loans, or who sleeps with whom. As James Carville would say: 'It's the economy, stupid!' How will you deal with the greatest financial and economic disaster the world has ever seen? So far it has only probably cost you money -- soon, it will cost you your job, your home, your family and your life. The only way out of this mess is the LaRouche program.

I call on Senators Joyce, Lynch, Jacques and Pacheco to introduce a resolution into the Massachusetts legislature calling for a New Bretton Woods conference, as has been done in the states of Pennsylvania, Alabama, Virginia and Kentucky, in the Italian Senate, and in the European Parliament.

I call on the other candidates, political organizations, the news media and all other concerned parties to insist that all candidates forums and debates include all candidates.

Finally, I urge everyone to listen to LaRouche's live audio webcast Tuesday, July 24th, 1 pm Easter time on "How to Survive the Onrushing Global Financial Crash" at www.larouchein2004.com.
